Ben Chu: Europe's Mr Angry

A multitude of questions arise in my mind after watching this horror show. But one looms above them all. And that is: why the hell is Farage so angry? He attacks Rompuy for being a non-entity from a "non-country". What would he rather? Some big, charismatic figure from a powerful country with the clout to bring Farage's nightmare of a European superstate closer? Surely Farage should be pleased that the "president of Europe" has the charisma of a "damp rag". Doesn't that mean he can do less damage? Doesn't this suit UKIP?

At the risk of engaging in cod psychology, perhaps it's because Rompuy is so clearly not Europe's Bismarck, that Farage has turned puce with rage. UKIP would have us believe that the EU, like Napoleon's armies, is on the march and that Britain needs to get out now. It's harder for Farage to make us swallow that line with a grey figure like Rompuy in place. Hence the rage.

because Mr. Rompuy has been picked to be President of the EU by a bunch Rompuy's elitist cronies? And the people, namely us, had no choice in the matter? I don't understand where your comments are coming from. I don't think you were watching the same video. I think you've missed the whole point of Mr. Farage's speech. Do we want to elect our politicians? Or do we want our corrupt politicians to pick who the politicians should be? I think I would be angry as well.

I suppose. One possible excuse (weak) is not enough publicity to a worthy cause.
Farage is correct...

Nigel Farage is merely pointing out what a lot of people in this country are feeling.

Who is this bloke and when did we vote for him?

The EU dictatorship is unfolding exactly as the 'conspiracy factulists' said it would... regardless of the denials and spin from the pro-EU LibLabCon Party and their propaganda machine the BBC.

Agree, Farage is going over the top to get publicity, not just for himself, but to wakeup us dozy Brits as to what is going on in the EU dictatorship.

An unenlightened man has no choice, for he is a slave.
A man on the way to enlightenment has a choice.
An enlightened man has no choice- he does what is necessary".
